AvantDerm
Dermatology clinic (medical + cosmetic) · Toronto, GTA
AvantDerm runs a Rapid Access walk-in clinic, mole-mapping and clinical trials out of the Distillery District, but there's still no online booking or patient portal on avantderm.com - patients can't even see wait times before walking in.
Why they need it
AvantDerm has grown from a single founder (Dr. Davindra Singh, 2010) into a full dermatology practice offering a walk-in 'Rapid Access Clinic,' medical dermatology, cosmetic treatments, mole-mapping and clinical trials out of the Distillery District - but there is no online booking system anywhere on the site, and the Rapid Access walk-in model gives patients no way to check expected wait times before showing up. For mole-mapping specifically, patients need a documented follow-up cadence (photograph comparisons over months/years); right now there's no visible portal for that. A patient booking and follow-up tracking system - letting patients request Rapid Access slots or see estimated wait windows, and giving mole-mapping patients a secure way to view past scans and get reminded of their next check - would reduce walk-in overcrowding and formalize the exact kind of longitudinal tracking that separates a serious dermatology practice from a single-visit med spa.
Tech gaps
No online booking/scheduling system for medical or cosmetic dermatology visits; no patient portal for mole-mapping/clinical-trial follow-up; walk-in Rapid Access Clinic run without a queue/wait-time system
Current tech
Site advertises a 'Rapid Access Clinic' walk-in model and an online product shop; no named booking platform identified, no online booking for Rapid Access visits
Selling a customer portal
PlaybookA login for their customers to book, see status, and pay, so the phone stops ringing for updates.
- Ask how many 'where is my job at' calls the office takes a week.
- Portals pay back on admin hours saved, not on new sales. Frame it as staff time.
- Start with status and booking. Payments and documents are phase two.
Objections (3)
- “We already have a website.”
- A website tells people about you. A portal does the work for you. It sits behind a login on the site you already have.
- “Our customers won't log in.”
- They already do it for their bank and their dentist. We text them a link; no password on the first visit.
- “Too expensive.”
- What does one admin hour cost you? Most portals replace 10 to 15 hours a week of status calls.
