Fantasy Garden Centers
garden centre (multi-location) · Brampton, GTA
With Oakville and Brampton locations both running off Danny's and Frank's personal cellphones, how do you currently know what stock the other location has on hand?
Why they need it
Fantasy Garden Centers runs two separate storefronts (Brampton and Oakville) 38+ years in, but each location is basically run off one person's personal cellphone (Danny in Oakville, Frank in Brampton) with a shared Gmail inbox and no shared inventory or ordering system between sites. That means a customer calling about stock has to reach the right person by luck, and there is no way to see what is available at the other location. A simple two-location inventory and online ordering system - even just 'check stock, reserve, pick up at either site' - would stop leads getting lost in a personal phone, let each owner see the other's stock, and support the seasonal reopen/close cycle (Oakville closes for winter) with a scheduling page instead of word of mouth.
Tech gaps
No shared inventory system between the two locations, no online ordering/ecommerce, no booking, orders handled via personal cellphones rather than a business system, Oakville location closes seasonally with no online scheduling of the reopen
Current tech
Basic informational website with Facebook/Instagram links, no ecommerce; orders and inquiries routed to personal cellphones per location (Danny in Oakville, Frank in Brampton) and a shared Gmail address
Selling a portal + ops tool
PlaybookA customer-facing portal and the internal tool behind it, built together so the data is entered once.
- Lead with whichever side hurts more today; the other side is phase two.
- One data model means the customer sees exactly what the office sees.
Objections (1)
- “That is a big project.”
- It is two small ones in a row. You see the first working before you commit to the second.
