Applewood Air Conditioning
HVAC contractor (residential + commercial) · Mississauga, GTA
You've installed over 200,000 systems across 40+ cities since 1970, but a homeowner still can't book a maintenance visit or look up their warranty online - only call [email protected].
Why they need it
Applewood has completed 200,000+ installs across 40+ cities but still routes every booking, warranty lookup and maintenance reminder through one sales@ inbox and a phone line. A customer portal + mobile booking app would let homeowners self-schedule maintenance/repair visits, look up their unit's install date and warranty status, and pay invoices online - cutting inbound call volume that a company this size must be absorbing manually. On the back end, a lightweight dispatch/CRM tool would replace whatever spreadsheet or paper system currently tracks which of their small technician roster is assigned to which of 40+ cities each day. Given the install volume, a maintenance-plan renewal and reminder engine alone (subscription tracking, automatic seasonal tune-up nudges) could materially lift recurring revenue without adding staff.
Tech gaps
No online booking button anywhere on the site, no customer portal to look up past installs/service visits, no visible field-technician app, and no self-serve way to book or track a maintenance visit despite the company's scale and 55-year install base.
Current tech
Static brochure-style WordPress site; one toll-free number, one GTA number and a single sales@ inbox handle all inquiries for a company claiming 200,000+ installations across 40+ Southern Ontario cities; Lennox 'find a dealer' widget embedded but no proprietary booking tool.
Selling a portal + ops tool
PlaybookA customer-facing portal and the internal tool behind it, built together so the data is entered once.
- Lead with whichever side hurts more today; the other side is phase two.
- One data model means the customer sees exactly what the office sees.
Objections (1)
- “That is a big project.”
- It is two small ones in a row. You see the first working before you commit to the second.
